In Virtual Worlds, you can use primitive 3D objects, such as cubes, cylinders, spheres, etcetera, to cut other objects by inserting them into your plan as cutters.
Inserting the Cutter
- In the Control Panel, select the Catalogue tab and select Generic > Architectural Elements.
- In the Architectural Elements catalogue, click the Select filter drop-down menu and select Category. Then, click the drop-down menu to the right and select Primitives.
- Click the Type drop-down menu, located above the Insert unit button, and select Cutter.
- Select the desired 3D shape and click Insert unit.
Note: For more information about catalogue filters, see How to filter and search a catalogue. |
Positioning the Cutter
Position the cutter so that it intersects with the object you want to cut.
You can position the cutter using the Drag tool, but it is more precise to use the Layout tab in the Control Panel.
Note: For more information, see How to use the layout tab of the control panel. |
Making the Cut
Once the cutter is in position, using the Select tool, right-click the cutter and select Cut Hole.
Note: If you are cutting a surface, you can reverse the cut by right-clicking the cut surface and selecting Remove cut. To reverse a cut to an object, press Ctrl + Z on your keyboard. |
