In Virtual Worlds, you may wish to enhance your designs by adding arches. You can build these by using a number of techniques displayed below.
Building with Generics
The first option for your arch is to build the arch using the generic objects provided by Virtual Worlds.
-
Navigate to the Generic Architectural Elements Catalogue.
-
Search for the QuadrantConcave item and insert it into your design. If you are unsure how to achieve this, please see here.
-
Rotate and Reposition the item into position and then Mirror this item to create the second half of the archway.
-
Resize the items again to fit the required distance.
-
Right-click each item and select Create Internal Surface to finish the arch.
Note: There are other arch options available in the Generic Architectural Structural Elements catalogue. |
Cutting with Generics
A different option for creating arches is to use cutters to cut the arch into a pre-existing structure in your design.
-
Navigate to the Generic Architectural Elements catalogue
-
Search for a Cube and change the Type to Cutter. Insert this into the design.
-
Repeat this process for the item CylinderHalf.
-
Resize, Reposition and Rotate these two items to make the shape of the archway you are creating.
-
Right-click each item in turn and select Cut Hole.
-
Right-click on the surrounding wall and select Create Internal Surface.
Note: Ensure that the shape you are cutting the arch into is has not been created into a surface when you cut your shape. |
