In Virtual Worlds, you can add realism to your custom tile templates by adding texture variations to your custom tiles. This is particularly useful when creating custom marble or wood templates where repeating the same tile isn't realistic.
This article assumes that you have already completed the Creating custom tiles article and have managed to create your own custom tile.
How to add variations
1. Prepare your additional images in the same way as on the Creating custom tiles article.
2. Navigate back to the Tile Browser and select the tile we wish to edit.
3. Select the tile we wish to edit by left-clicking on it. Select Catalogue Tools and then Add/Edit Catalogue Entry.
4. Select Modify Textures from the Database Tile Record window.
5. Select the box underneath Textures on the Tile Geometry window.
6. Select the Add button to open up the File Explorer and select the images you wish to add as variations. Only one image can be added at a time so repeat this process for each image you wish to add.
7. Save Current Tile to apply the changes to the custom tile.
8. Reapply the tile template to see the new variations.
