Within Virtual Worlds, specific catalogues, such as those featuring fitted furniture or worktops, offer extra choices to pick a specific range or finish for the items, or to add a trim.
1. Insert
Under the Insert tab, you can insert items from the selected catalogue. In a catalogue with range and finish options, there are additional options above the filters. Each of these drop-downs menus can be used to specify options, before selecting filters to complete your search. The available drop-downs menus can differ, but some commonly used examples are below:
-
Range - The selected range to be applied to the inserted unit.
-
Door - The door finish or colour to be applied to the inserted unit.
-
Carcase - The carcase finish or colour to be applied to the inserted unit.
-
Door Handle - The door handle to be applied to the inserted unit.
-
Drawer Handle - The drawer handle to be applied to the inserted unit.
- Supports - Any supports such as legs to be applied to the inserted unit.
Note: Each of the drop-down menus have an image icon, located to the right of each drop-down menu, that can be used to view the available options with images rather than as text. |
2. Range Change
Under the Range Change tab, you can change the range for items in your plan that are from the selected catalogue.
-
Change selected: Changes specific items from this catalogue that you have selected in your plan to the options you have chosen in the drop-down menus.
- Change all: Changes all the items in your plan from this catalogue to the options you have chosen in the drop-down menus without needing to manually select them.
3. Trims
Under the Trims tab, you can add trims, such as a cornice, pelmet or a plinth, to an item. Under this tab, you can also add a splashback or an upstand to a worktop.
Adding a plinth, cornice or pelmet
Once you have selected the trim you wish to apply, click Apply Trim. This will automatically apply the trim to the selected item or items. Plinths, cornices and pelmets can adapt automatically to changes in width or depth of units, but they will not adapt to differentiating heights. For units at separate heights, add multiple trims to each height. If necessary, you can also resize and reposition them manually to adapt to any unit.
Note: If you find that the trims do not apply automatically, or don't fully cover the area you expect, this may be due to the positioning of units within your plan. Ensure units are snapped together with connection points, are not different heights, or that they do not have gaps or protrusions through other units. |
Adding a splashback or upstand to a worktop
Open the worktops catalogue, ensuring you have already added your worktop to the units. Select the category and range options for the desired trims and select the worktop in the design itself. Then click Apply Trim. The below example shows a Splashback for a worktop. Upstands are applied in the same way.
Note: If you ever find a worktop does not apply automatically, or it does not cover the correct area, ensure the worktop itself is reaching the wall surfaces you want the trims to be applied to. If the worktop does not reach the wall surface, the trim will not be applied automatically. |
