In Virtual Worlds, you can use quickly locate items within manufacturer catalogues by using catalogue filters. You can also use the search function to locate specific items by their description or part code.
How to use catalogue filters
In Virtual Worlds:
- In the Control Panel, select the Catalogue tab.
- Open the desired catalogue. You will see the Select field drop-down menu (1) and the Search tick box (3). Some catalogues will also have additional filtering options (2):
- Click the Select filter drop-down menu to select a filter:
- Then click the drop-down menu to the right to select a further characteristic within that filter:
Note: Each time you select a filter, a new Select filter drop-down menu will appear beneath the previous. You can use this feature to search using multiple filters. However, you should note that the filters are applied sequentially from top to bottom.
How to use the Search function
Note! If you have any other filters active, the search function will only search within those parameters. |

Left-click to tick the Search box. This will activate the search fields Partcode and Description:
Note: You can untick the Limit search by selected style box to apply their search terms to all styles of units within the catalogue.
- If you know the part code, enter it in the Partcode field. If you do not know the part code, or only partially know it, you can enter a description, for example a measurement, into the Description field.
Using additional filtering options
If a catalogue has additional filters, these will be visible towards the top of the Control Panel, above the Select filter and Search options. These additional filters are predefined, for example Location or Type, and clicking the drop-down menu of one of these filters will allow you to select from the available options.
