A catalogue network server allows you to use the same catalogues across all the client PCs in your shop and share catalogue collections across your team of designers. To access these shared catalogues, collections and groups, your machine must be set up as a network client.

1. Install Virtual Worlds on the client
Download and install the latest version of Virtual Worlds Professional from the Virtual Worlds User Centre onto the client.

2. Map the network drive
- Open Windows File Explorer and go to This PC.
- Under the Computer tab, located at the top of the window, select Map network drive > Map network drive.
- In the Map network drive window, click the Drive drop-down menu and select V:.
- In the Folder field, enter \\ServerPCName\Virtual worlds, substituting ServerPCName for the name of the PC you have set up as a server.
Note: You can check the name of a PC by clicking the Windows Start icon and selecting Settings. In the Settings window, select System and then About. You can find System type under Device specifications.
- Tick the box Reconnect at Sign-in and click Finish.
3. Install the network client setup
- Download the network client setup program on the PC, you can find this here.
- Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and double-click to install.
- Follow the installation process.
Note: It may be necessary to allow administrator permissions for installation.
4. Add the server to trusted sites
- In the Type here to search field, located to the immediate right of the Windows Start icon, use your keyboard to search for the Control Panel.
- Open the Control Panel and select Network and Internet.
- In the Network and Internet window, select Internet Options.
- In the Internet Properties window, select the Security tab.
- Select the Trusted Sites icon and click Sites.
- In the Trusted Sites window, untick the box Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone. Then, in the Add this website to the zone field, enter: File://V:\
- Click Add and then close the Trusted Sites window.
- In the Internet Properties window, under the Security tab, with Trusted Sites selected and in the Security levels for this zone section, click Custom level.
- In the Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zones window, scroll down to locate Miscellaneous.
- Under Miscellaneous, set Access data sources across domains to Enable.
- Scroll down to locate User Authentication.
- Under User Authentication, set Logon to Automatic logon with current username and password.
- Click OK. The Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zones window will close.
- In the Internet Properties window, click Apply and then click OK.
5. Configure the folder pathways
- Open Virtual Worlds Professional.
- At the top of the screen, select Tools > Options.
- In the Options window, under Options list, select Paths.
- Under Options Panel, in the Paths section, for each of the fields Catalogues, Textures and Pages, click the More options icon:
- In the Select Folder window, locate the V: drive and select the Virtual Worlds folder for Catalogues, Textures and Pages, respectively and click Select folder.
- Under Options Panel, in the Network Settings section, tick the box Access Network Catalogues.
- Click OK.
- Close Virtual Worlds Professional.
Note: The changes will take effect the next time you open Virtual Worlds Professional.
6. Test a catalogue
- Open Virtual Worlds Professional.

Open an existing design or Create a new plan.
- In the 3D View, navigate to the Control Panel and select the Catalogue tab.
- Select a catalogue to open.
Note: For example, one of the Generic catalogues, such as Architectural Elements v1.
- Double-click a unit, or left-click a unit and click Insert unit, to insert the object into the plan.
