The Virtual Worlds Beta Catalogue Program gives early access to upcoming catalogue updates so designers can start using new products sooner and contribute to final improvements.
How do I sign up?
The Virtual Worlds Beta Catalogue program is opt-in only. To join, select Receive beta catalogues in the user centre by navigating through Downloads and Catalogues before selecting Download Settings. Next, select the tick box and Save.
This method will soon be standard in developing the Virtual Worlds catalogue. It allows you to design with the latest products sooner than waiting for full release cycles.
Beta Quality Control
Before public release, Beta catalogues undergo quality control to ensure they meet standards of quality and functionality.
Full quality assurance (QA) is ongoing during the Beta phase. Consequently, minor issues may still exist that have not yet been addressed. This continuous QA is crucial for product refinement and improving user experience.
Your feedback is crucial for early identification of issues, enabling us to make timely adjustments. By sharing your insights, you greatly enhance the quality and reliability of the Beta catalogues.
Additionally, new products in the Beta catalogues may lack complete pricing information. Some items could be listed without final prices, which may change as we refine the catalogue and gather more data.
Using Beta Catalogues
Beta catalogues are installed in the same directory as their full versions, allowing them to function similarly.
When installing a Beta catalogue, it will overwrite any existing versions. This ensures you have the latest version, but be cautious as any custom settings from the previous version may be lost.
Users can easily identify Beta catalogues through specific indicators.
The term [BETA] will appear next to the version number, indicating that the catalogue is still in testing and may have unrefined features or bugs.
Beta catalogues also feature an orange icon. Hovering over it reveals the word “Beta,” further signalling that the catalogue is not final. This colour coding and hover text help clarify the software's status for users.
Reporting Catalogue Issues
Reporting issues helps us address feedback before the full catalogue release. To report a problem with a catalogue, right-click on any unit and select Report Issue. Complete the form, and our team will resolve it before the release.
Thank you for joining the Virtual Worlds beta catalogue programme. If you have questions or feedback, feel free to reach out.
