On Virtual Worlds Professional, you can create acoustic wood panels using the Generic catalogues and the Duplicate tool.
Build a Single Wood Panel
To begin with, we need to build the initial wood panel using a Cube from the Generic Architectural Elements catalogue.
Once the shape is correct, we need to apply a texture file to the cube to give it the appearance of wood. Virtual Worlds has a number of different wood textures, or you can apply your own. For further help with this, please see here.
Save the Panel as a Custom Group
Once you have one panel, it is a good idea to save this item into your Custom Packs and Groups to allow it to be reused on future designs.
| Note: You can combine all the acoustic wood panels into one catalogue collection item if you prefer. |
Duplicate the Panel
In your design, we need to position the wood panel into place and then navigate to the Catalogue tab of the Control Panel and scroll down to the bottom of the window to the Duplicate section.
1. Choose the direction for the panels to duplicate.
2. Select this to choose if the original item should stay highlighted after a duplicate is made.
3. Select this to toggle the automatic grouping of duplicated items.
4. Set the offset distance to specify the space between each duplicate.
Next, we need to select the original wood panel and press Ctrl + D on the keyboard as many times as needed to cover the area you want to panel.
