Importing custom 3D models

Personalize your plan by adding custom-made 3D models into your design. Virtual Worlds Professional supports the 3D Studio (.3ds) file format.

Please note that while these models will be visible in the 3D View, they will not appear in 2D diagrams.

bringing in your own units, dwg, .dwg, autocad, import, bak, .dxf, .nff, .wrl

Take the following steps to import a 3D model:

    1. In the menu bar, click Design.

    2. Go to Import and select Model...
    3. In the Insert a Model window, locate and select the file you want to use.

    4. Click Open.

Note: Check the Scale of the model before importing. Once imported, the model may be too big or small and may require reimporting with the scale adjusted.

  • If the model is too big, try setting the Scale to 0.1.
  • If the model is too small, try setting the Scale to 2.

Continue adjusting until you are happy with the scale.
