The Virtual Worlds Stand Alone Renderer (SAR) is downloaded via the Virtual Worlds Download Manager, or directly from the User Centre. This application can be installed locally on your machine, running in the background, or on a separate machine on the network.
SAR can be added to the Download Manager by choosing the software in the User Centre.
Installing direct from download in User Centre
- Login to the User Centre.
- Click the Downloads drop-down in the top-right and select Software Updates.
- Select Stand Alone Renderer in the list.
- Choose the version to download and click Download.
- The file will begin downloading via your browser.
- Once the download is complete, open File Explorer on your desktop and access the Downloads file.
- The .exe file will be titled Setup VW Stand Alone Renderer, with the version number listed after the title. Double-click the file.
- The VW Stand Alone Renderer wizard will now open. Follow the steps in the wizard.
- Once the program has been installed, it can be accessed from the VW SAR entry and icon from the Windows search bar. In older operating systems, click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, and locate Virtual Worlds > VW SAR from the list.
You can also pin it to the Taskbar or create a desktop shortcut to make accessing the SAR easier in the future.
- If the SAR is launched and your licence is already registered, the program will start as normal.
If your licence hasn’t yet been registered, you will be prompted with a Licence Status dialog box which allows you to register your licence. Once the licence has been configured, the SAR is ready to use.
Installing via Virtual Worlds Download Manager
- Login to the User Centre.
- Click the Downloads drop-down in the top-right and select Software Updates.
- Select Stand Alone Renderer in the list.
- Choose the version to download and select by clicking Add to queue.
SAR will now be included in your download list in Download manager.
- Open Virtual Worlds Download Manager and select Stand Alone Renderer to Download and then Run.
Note: Downloading SAR from the Virtual Worlds Download Manager is the same process as downloading catalogues for Virtual Worlds. For detailed guidance on Downloading and Installing, see article How to download and install catalogues.
- Once the program has been installed, it can be accessed from the VW SAR entry and icon from the Windows search bar. In older operating systems, click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, and locate Virtual Worlds > VW SAR from the list.
