It is possible to run Virtual Worlds software on certain Apple Mac machines. However, as Virtual Worlds is designed to run on the Windows operating system, you will need to install Windows on your Mac before running the software.
Compatibility Considerations
ARM-Based Processors (M1 Chip): Virtual Worlds cannot be used on Mac machines with ARM-based processors, such as the M1 chip, because the SQL server required for Virtual Worlds will not install on these systems.
Using Parallels to Run Windows on a Mac
One method to run Virtual Worlds on a Mac is through a virtual machine system called Parallels, which allows you to run Windows while also operating macOS. Once Parallels is installed, you can then install the Windows OS and run Virtual Worlds as you would on a regular Windows PC.
Note: We do not provide or support the Parallels software, as it is developed and distributed by a different company. Please refer to your Mac supplier or visit Parallels' website for more information on obtaining, installing, and using Parallels.
Installing Virtual Worlds on Parallels
- Install Parallels on your Mac by following the instructions provided by the software vendor.
- Once Parallels is installed, set up the Windows OS on your Mac.
- After Windows is installed, you can install and run Virtual Worlds as you would on a standard Windows machine.
Note: For any issues related to Parallels installation or usage, please contact your Mac supplier or the Parallels support team, as we do not offer support for third-party software.
