Orthographic View is a method used to view a 3D design in Virtual Worlds Professional. This view presents the 3D environment as a flat 2D image, providing a technical representation that is ideal for planning purposes.
Using Orthographic View
- To access Orthographic view, first ensure that you have the Fly or Walk tool selected.
- Manoeuvre to any desired position. Note: For guidance on navigating in Fly mode, see How to navigate in 3D view.
- Click the Orthographic / Normal view toggle option by navigating to View > View Options > Orthographic View.
- The view will now be set to Orthographic view. Repeat this process if you want to revert to the normal view.
Navigating Orthographic View
It is faster and more convenient to navigate Orthographic view by clicking the elevation view icons, which provide the following view options:
Plan View - Switch to a bird’s-eye view of the design. | |
Front Elevation - Switch to the front elevation view in the design. | |
Rear Elevation - Switch to the rear elevation view in the design. | |
Left Elevation - Switch to the left elevation view in the design. | |
Right Elevation - Switch to the right elevation view in the design. | |
Zoom All - Switch to a top-corner view of the design. Keep clicking the icon to move to the next top corner of the design. |
Creating Orthographic Renders
When in Orthographic view, the only type of projection you can select will be Orthographic. See Creating images: Choosing a projection type for further advice on projections, and Creating Images to create a render.
