If you are using the Stand Alone Renderer (SAR) via a network so renders are offset to another device, the SAR Notifier generates an automatic notification to let you know when the render has finished on your main computer.
In order for the notification to be sent, the SAR Notifier program needs to be running. Take the following steps to set up SAR Notifier:
- Make a note of the Network Port reference in SAR. Click the VW SAR Icon
to open Virtual Worlds Standalone Renderer and click the Settings tab. The Network Port reference is located in the Broadcast Notification Settings section.
- Find the application by searching in the Windows search bar:
- Click Open.
The SAR Notifier icon will appear in the Windows System Tray in the bottom right:
-
Right-click on the SAR Notifier icon and select Settings.
The Network section allows you to configure the Listen Port for the automatic notification.
This needs to match the Network Port that is in the SAR Mode selection settings tab - see Step 1.The Copy rendered images from SAR folder allows you to copy a rendered image to a new location by selecting the relevant folders.
- Enter the Network Port reference you made a note of in Step 1.
- Click OK.
With SAR Notifier enabled, once a render is complete an automatic notification similar to this will pop up:
