The Product Options tool allows you to create alternative choices, such as different brands, colours or configurations, within one design. The following steps show how to set two different product options for the design in Virtual Worlds Professional.

Add your first product option
- In the design, select the Product Options button on the menu bar.
Note: You can also find this option by selecting the Design dropdown menu and selecting Product Options.
-
The Product options window is separated into an Options list (1), and an Option Content list (2).
In the Product Options window, click the Add New Product Option icon.
In the Options list (1), a new option will populate. It is recommended that you name these options after the product type to be changed, for example "Base Unit".

Once selected, click on the Add selected to option button in the Option Content (2) section of the Product Options window:
This has now created the first Product Option.

Adding more product options
- In the Product Options window, select to Add Preference button:
- Select the new preference by selecting the circle to the left of the option. You will see that this removes the first selection from the design. Insert the second option into the design and move into the correct location using the Referencing Tool.

Click between the preferences to check they have saved correctly and that there is no clash.
You can alter the placement after saving the preferences without needing to re-save the content.
Things to note
-
You cannot have a single item in multiple product options. If needed, duplicate the item to set it in a new product option.
- If you want the placement to be exactly the same for both placements, it is recommended to make a note of the distance line references for the original product, and enter the same for the second item.
